Job Title: Cabinet Finisher / Furniture Finisher

Job Type: Full-time

Location: Canby, OR

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced and skilled cabinet finisher to join our team! The cabinet finisher will be responsible for preparing, finishing, and at times repairing custom cabinets and other furniture pieces. The ideal candidate will have experience in residential and possibly commercial settings, with a strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality craftsmanship.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare surfaces for finishing by sanding, filling, and priming as needed
  • Apply stains, paints, and other finishes to cabinets, ensuring even coverage and a smooth finish
  • Use hand and power tools to apply finishes, and ensure that all equipment is properly maintained and stored
  • Mix and match colors to achieve desired finish, and ensure that all finishing materials are properly labeled and stored
  • Follow all safety protocols and regulations related to the use of finishing materials and equipment
  • Collaborate with other members of the production team to ensure that finished cabinets meet customer specifications and quality standards
  • Perform quality control inspections of finished products to ensure that all cabinets meet established standards
  • Keep accurate records of all work performed, including materials used, hours worked, and other relevant data
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, and ensure that all tools and equipment are properly stored and maintained

Qualifications and Skills:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 2+ years of experience in cabinet finishing or a related field
  • Knowledge of various finishing materials and techniques, including stains, paints, and sealants
  • Familiarity with woodworking tools and equipment, including sanders, sprayers, and brushes
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to produce high-quality work
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to new techniques and materials

Physical Demands:

  • Must be able to stand for long periods of time
  • Must be able to lift and move heavy materials (up to 50 lbs.)
  • Must be able to work in various weather conditions (if working on job sites)
