Serves as agency Human Resources Analyst and supports variety of programs for the Ohio Department of Education and Workforce:

  • Support hiring activities such as reviewing position descriptions, screening applications, generating offer letters, creating new hire packets, and assisting with first day paperwork.
  • Supporting personnel activities and preparing required paperwork (e.g., researching proposals for advanced step requests, preparing justifications for staffing requests, processing resignations, preparing Electronic Personnel Action Requests (ePARs)), in accordance with state of Ohio guidelines.
  • Assists with updating the Department’s tables of organizations biweekly to reflect reorganizations, hires, terminations, and promotions.
  • Assists with vacancy data; participates in revision of human resources operating procedures; monitors, prepares and/or processes various forms & reports; represents agency at human resources &/or training meetings.
  • Responds to inquiries from employees and applicants, completes employment verifications and loan forgiveness forms; assists higher-level HR staff on special projects; maintains HR records for all employees; responds to correspondence from employees.
  • Assists with tracking mandatory training for new hires and current employees and serves as a liaison for Ohio Learn questions.
  • Serves as a backup human resources coordinator for payroll processing.
  • Runs standard reports in human capital management system and prepares monthly HR data statistics.
  • Assists with offboarding and exiting of employees.
  • Assists with maintaining employee personnel files.
  • Supports the HCM Manager with providing requested forms to employees regarding FMLA, Disability and Workers Comp


Performs other related duties as assigned:

  • Conducts research and completes special projects
  • Attends conferences, trainings, planning sessions, and meetings.

Qualifications

2 yrs. exp. in human resources.



  • Or completion of undergraduate core program in human resources, business or public administration.


  • Or 1 yr. exp. as Human Capital Management Associate, 64611.


  • Or equivalent of Minimum Class Qualifications For Employment noted above.
