Job Description:

As a Junior Tax Consultant at Augmentjobs, you will assist in providing tax advisory and compliance services to our clients. You will work under the supervision of senior tax consultants and managers to ensure accurate and timely tax reporting. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented individual with a foundational understanding of tax regulations and a desire to grow within the tax profession.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Tax Preparation and Compliance:

   • Assist in the preparation of federal, state, and local tax returns for individuals and businesses.

   • Ensure compliance with tax laws and regulations, including timely filing and payment.

2. Client Support:

   • Provide support to clients by answering tax-related questions and assisting with tax planning strategies.

   • Prepare documentation and reports for client meetings.

3. Research and Analysis:

   • Conduct research on tax issues and interpret relevant tax laws and regulations.

   • Assist in the analysis of financial information to identify potential tax implications.

4. Documentation and Filing:

   • Organize and maintain accurate tax records and documentation.

   • Assist in the preparation of supporting schedules and workpapers for tax filings.

5. Collaboration:

   • Work closely with senior tax consultants and managers to address complex tax issues.

   • Collaborate with other departments to gather necessary information for tax filings.

6. Professional Development:

   • Stay updated on changes in tax legislation and best practices.

   • Participate in training and development opportunities to enhance tax knowledge and skills.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

1. Education:

   • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

2. Experience:

   • 1 to 3 years of experience in tax preparation or related financial roles.

3. Technical Skills:

   • Basic knowledge of tax regulations and compliance.

   • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

   • Familiarity with tax software and accounting systems.

4. Analytical Skills:

   • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

   • Ability to interpret complex tax laws and regulations.

5. Communication Skills:

   • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

   • Ability to explain tax concepts clearly to clients and team members.

   • High level of accuracy and attention to detail in preparing and reviewing tax documents.
