PARK MAINTENANCE WORKER I – GREAT BASIN / MOJAVE SECTOR / SADDLEBACK BUTTE STATE PARK

This position is subject to the Post and Bid process. Applications from a certification list, transfer change in class, reinstatement, re-employment, and training and development assignment candidates will be accepted for this position but consistent with the MOU/Bargaining Agreement BU12/13 contract cannot be acted upon unless the Post & Bid process does not result in a hire.

The reporting location for this position is Saddleback Butte State Park in Lancaster, CA. This position will work under the supervision of Park Maintenance Supervisor.   

This position serves as Park Maintenance Worker I for the Mojave Sector. The incumbent may be assigned to work at other locations through the Sector as needed. The incumbent operates and maintains miscellaneous equipment and performs miscellaneous skilled and semi-skilled work in the maintenance and repair of park facilities, roads, and systems

Training and Development Assignments may be considered.

The incumbent’s work schedule will be Monday to Thursday from 6:00 AM to 4:30 PM.

This position is designated as not telework eligible.

Working Conditions

• Work involves moderate exposure to unusual elements, such as extreme temperatures, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, unpleasant odors, and/or loud noises.
• Work environment involves some exposure to hazards or physical risks, which require following basic safety precautions.
• Outdoor work is common.
• Typical work activities involve frequent and prolonged periods of standing and walking.

Special Requirements

• The position(s) require(s) a valid California Drivers License (CDL). You must answer the questions addressing your CDL on your application. Ensure you provide your CDL number, class, expiration date, and any endorsements and/or restrictions.

Candidates that believe they meet the Minimum qualifications based on a pattern of education from the classification description (specifications) must provide a copy of your degree/transcripts and/or license along with your application (STD. 678) to be considered for this position. If selected for the position official sealed transcripts will be required prior to appointment.
