Job Summary:
The Provider Analytics Intern provides exposure to health insurance contracting, including data analysis, technical tool maintenance, and database auditing. The intern will work on projects that vary in difficulty and complexity but are all important to the success of the actuarial and underwriting departments.

This is an on-site position located at our Portland office.

Pay Range: $20.88- $26.10 hourly (depending on experience).

Required Skills, Experience & Education:

  • Highly organized, detail oriented and able to manage multiple projects and timelines.
  • Strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Ability to project a professional image and maintain complete confidentiality.
  • Ability to come to work on a daily basis and arrive on time.
  • Experience with using data analysis tools such as SAS, SQL, Microsoft Access, or other similar applications is a plus.
Primary Functions :
  • Maintain the Provider Analytics email inbox. Reviewing emails and making sure the contract information is entered into the Contracting database.
  • Audits the Contracting database.
  • Learns procedures and programming behind spreadsheets and applications utilized by the department and establishes a comprehensive understanding of these to streamline processes.
  • Downloads important fee schedules and files from 3 rd parties in a timely manner.
  • Maintains the contracts directory and does a weekly review for any missing or moved file paths.
  • Compiles and verifies data, prepares reports and provides various levels of analysis and documentation.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Working Conditions & Contact with Others
  • Office environment with extensive close PC and keyboard work, and constant sitting. Must be able to navigate multiple screens. Work 37.5 hours per week.
  • This is an internal role which reports to the manager and will be required to attend a few meetings per week.
