Job Description

Senior accountant role with opportunity to quickly grow to the controller position---Michiana area. This nonprofit offers a good work/life balance working with a positive accounting team. If you have a desire to make your community a better place this organization could be a great fit.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance
Experience with Fund Accounting, General ledger, reporting, and functional areas of accounting such as A/P, A/R, and payroll
Good organizational and time management skills. Setting priorities and communicating with the team.
Strong sense of confidentiality and strong ethical standards.
Good systems skills including advanced Excel.
Minimum of four years of accounting experience in a non profit or public school system working with the reporting requirements.
Team player with strong communication skills with all business partners.

Responsibilities

Journal entries and account recs
Month end close and reporting
Maintain fixed asset schedules
Monthly bank recs
Assist with the annual budget and monitor year to date data
Follows policies and procedures including educating others on the team in these area.
