Are you passionate about people and ready to make a real impact? CMI Media Group is on the lookout for a Senior People Operations Coordinator to join our team! In this role, you’ll be the go-to person for all things HR operations, helping to drive our Human Resources programs, platforms, and processes to the next level across CMI Media Group and Compas.

 

You’ll be at the heart of our HR team, providing vital support with everything from payroll processing to crafting HR programs. Your attention to detail will ensure that all our reports, files, and programs are spot-on and in line with federal and state regulations. You’ll keep our HRIS humming and make sure our HR data is always up-to-date and accurate, helping us stay ahead of the game.

Responsibilities:

  • Update and maintain human resource systems with accurate and up-to-date employee information, including new hires, terminations, promotions, and other life cycle changes.
  • Process payroll paperwork, ensuring accurate and timely submission to the payroll department.
  • Calculate payments for employees on leave of absence, adhering to company policies and legal requirements.
  • Perform a wide range of duties relative to the maintenance and processing of personnel records and reports
  • Troubleshoot system issues with ADP. Look for ways to resolve issues timely and efficiently and develop processes to reduce repeat issues
  • Provide support on HR Technology projects related to compensation requirements, process, reporting, testing, and data
  • Serve as a backup in ad-hoc reporting as requested from HRIS systems, including metrics data outputs, schedules, completion lists and certifications, etc.
  • Manage checklists and operational responsibilities for with internal teams to ensure properly onboarded employees
  • Act as liaison to employees in matters of policy or procedures
  • Participate in administrative staff meetings and attend other meetings and seminars
  • Coordination and execution of CMI Media Group and Compas Employee Recognition programs
  • Develop and maintain a knowledge of existing HR and employment laws, including EEOC, ADA, FMLA, etc. to effectively maintain employment records and recommend process changes
  • Support and maintain an understanding of CMI Media Group and Compas (inclusive of WPP’s) ethical and behavioral programs, and ensure tracking of employee completion of trainings
  • Manage the purchase order process and documentation for HR
  • Manage workload and assignments, audit processes, identify and correct errors
  • Identify process improvements and escalate issues to Manager, People Operations

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent preferred
  • 2-5 years’ experience in People Operations
  • Knowledgeable in employee payroll.
  • Knowledge of labor laws, such as the Fair Labor Standards Act, and other federal laws
  • Working understanding of human resource principles, practices, and procedures 
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to effectively interact with multiple stakeholders
  • Excellent time and productivity management skills.
  • Data driven and detailed oriented
  • Takes direction well and asks questions in a timely manner
  • Collaborates well with others
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Power Point
  • Continuous improvement mindset
  • Must be able to exercise confidentiality, discretion, and sound judgment   
  • Excellent organizational, project management, and problem-solving skills, with a high degree of attention to detail
  • Ability to proactively prioritize assignments and manage multiple projects and demands concurrently
  • Ability to handle projects and lead a process from start to finish
  • Uses resources efficiently, meets deadlines, and keeps others informed of work
